  • Leah came to Saving Grace in February 2020. She was originally at Lubbock Animal Services but did not do well there. She is a beautiful young girl who loves all people and gives great hugs. She has a lot to say and may make funny donkey noises at you when she wants to tell you something! Leah is full of energy and is a natural athlete. She’d be the perfect running partner! Playing tug with a rope and chasing after big balls in the play yard are some of her favorite things to do!

  • Domino came to Saving Grace in January 2020 after many stressful months at Lubbock Animal Services. He was a walking skeleton and severely depressed. He is now a happy, healthy, active dog! Looking for a running buddy? Domino is your guy. Need a hiking partner? Sign him up. Want someone to play lots of ball with? He’s your man!   • Ruby came to Saving Grace in September 2021 when she was intentionally dumped on our doorstep. Ruby is around 3 years old and is definitely the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! While she is playful and full of energy, she can also be very submissive and seems more confident when she goes for walks with one of her doggie friends.   • Hi! My name is Soldier. I was found emaciated as a stray in Lubbock, TX. Thankfully, I was found by very sweet dog lovers and they helped me become healthy and happy again. I am about 1.5 years old and all puppy! I love to play with chew toys, play outside and enjoy taking walks. I would do best in an active home with fun activities or with a dog friend that is medium to large size.

  • Neiko, a regal Akita with a soul full of sunshine, has been waiting for his forever family for a over five years. While the circumstances of his owner surrender remain a mystery, Neiko's spirit remains unbowed. This playful senior is a walking contradiction: wise and experienced yet bursting with youthful energy. He adores car rides with the windows down, the wind ruffling his fur, and wouldn't dream of missing out on a scoop of dog-friendly ice cream (it's practically a tradition!). A champ on walks, Neiko would happily explore new trails with you by his side. While Neiko isn't a fan of other furry friends, his focus is squarely on his human companion and bonds quickly. If you're looking for a loyal, loving dog who thrives on adventures (and maybe shares your love for frozen treats!), Neiko could be your perfect match.     Neiko is a favorite among volunteers and enjoys outings with them. He is such a great dog with big love and big personality. He deserves a home of his own!

    Neiko came to Saving Grace in November 2018. He was found wandering the streets and his owner didn't want him back when Lubbock Animal Services contacted them. He has a gorgeous brindle coat that makes him look so handsome and unique! He is the biggest, sweetest fluff ball you will ever meet! Neiko holds his toys in his mouth and dances around on his back legs when he's happy - which is all the time.

  • Meet Shasta, a 25 lb., 1 year-old shepherd mix who came to Saving Grace in early April after news broke of a hoarding case in a nearby rural county.

    You will love Shasta if you:

    - Want a new best friend for you current dog

    - Are ready to adopt a dog with the kindest soul and biggest heart

    - Can be inspired by a dog who has been through challenges and has overcome them

    - Will appreciate a dog who is shy, but given some time loves everyone she meets

  • Meet Wylie!

    Wylie is a truly special boy, estimated to be around 2 years old. His journey to us began as a stray in a rural West Texas town, where he sadly suffered an injury when his foot was caught in a coyote trap. Despite this difficult past, Wylie's spirit remains beautiful and bright.

    He is a truly majestic dog, with a striking presence. While Wylie can be shy initially, especially around new people and experiences, a playful side peeks through as he begins to feel comfortable. He's currently learning the ropes of leash walking and making great progress each day!

    Wylie has shown a preference for women and would likely thrive in a home with female caregivers, however, he is warming up to men more each day. He needs a structured, patient, and incredibly kind environment where he can feel safe and learn what it truly means to be a cherished dog. This gentle soul needs a family who will understand his initial caution, offer consistent positive reinforcement, and give him the time and space he needs to blossom. He needs gentle guidance to navigate new places, people and unfamiliar sounds.

  • Theo, a trembling Chihuahua, is one of the few survivors of a heartbreaking cruelty case. Found alongside his friends, Mia and Noah, this tiny warrior has endured the unimaginable. His small frame bears emotional scars of his past, but his spirit remains unbroken.

  • Kemper came to Saving Grace in October 2020. He was surrendered because his owner couldn’t afford surgery he needed to remove bladder stones. We are grateful to Four Legged Friends of Lubbock for funding his surgery, and he’s a completely healthy dog now – he just needs to continue on a special diet to maintain good bladder health.   • Jasmine came to Saving Grace in August 2020. She was attacked by another dog in her previous home and her owner surrendered her to get her treated. She’s an older lady but young at heart! She is a pro at zoomies! She loves when you throw her toys, but she tends to overshoot her destination and go tumbling headfirst in the grass. Her favorite play yard pastime is throwing herself on the ground and rolling on her back. Jasmine does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.

At around 2-3 years old, this 55-pound sweetheart was rescued from the brink of euthanasia at a small shelter in Tulia, TX. Born with congenital blindness, Jack's world is navigated through touch, scent, and sound. Despite his disability, Jack's spirit is vibrant and unwavering. He loves exploring the world on walks, guided by his trusty human companion. With each step, Jack embodies resilience and hope, proving that love and companionship can overcome any challenge.   • Meet Opal!

    Prepare to fall head over heels for Opal! This gentle soul is truly the "sweetest potato" you'll ever meet. For her entire life, Opal resided at another rescue nearby. When that rescue made the difficult decision to close, Opal found her way to us, and we are determined to find her the loving family she so deserves.

    Opal is an absolute sweetheart who thrives on affection. Her favorite things in the world are gentle pets, leisurely walks, and simply being near her people. You'll often find her nudging your hand or leaning against your leg – physical touch brings her immense comfort and reassurance. After spending so long waiting, she's ready to soak up all the love you have to offer!

    This lovely lady also has a big heart for her fellow canines! Opal gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a furry friend in her new home or just taking all the affection for herself!

    While Opal's medical assessment is excellent, she does have low thyroid levels. This is easily managed with a daily pill. This minor health concern doesn't slow her down one bit and certainly doesn't diminish her incredible sweetness! Treating this condition will also help her manage her weight.

  • Chucky came to Saving Grace in January 2020. He was seized from his owner for welfare concerns and spent several months at Lubbock Animal Services before coming to us.   • Meet Johnny!

    Johnny is a vibrant and energetic 1-year-old boy who was lucky enough to escape the dangers of Lubbock, TX's traffic. No one came forward to claim this sweet boy and he had no identification. This 45-pound bundle of joy is full of life and loves to be around other dogs. He's already kennel trained and is a quick learner when motivated by treats. If you're looking for a loyal and playful companion to fill your days with laughter and love, Johnny is the perfect match!

    Johnny is currently in the finder's home and would love a new home to call his own. Saving Grace is listing him as a courtesy to his finder and he is not actually in our care.

    This handsome fella is a true gem, inside and out. Chance is a beautiful dog with a heart of gold, but sadly, he's had a long and winding road to finding his forever home. He waited patiently at another rescue, hoping for his special someone, until they sadly had to close their doors. Now, he's with us, hoping his luck is about to change! Chance is dog-friendly, walks wonderfully on leash, and loves to chat with his favorite people (he's quite the conversationalist!).   • This precious girl is Faye, a beautiful bully who has been through a lot but is ready for all the good things life has to offer! Found as a stray in Brownfield, TX, along with two other dogs, Faye sadly found herself facing an uncertain future on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, she's now safe with us and ready to find her forever family!

    Faye is an absolute doll! While she might be a little shy at first, it doesn't take long for her sweet and gentle nature to shine through. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has excellent house manners – she's already potty trained and crate trained! One of Faye's favorite pastimes is snuggling up for a cozy nap on the couch, and we have a feeling she'd love to share yours!

  • Meet Gunner! This adorable 7-month-old Min Pin/Chi mix is ready to find his forever family! Gunner and his two brothers came to us as an owner surrender because their previous family could no longer care for them.
