Meet Our Dogs

  • Leah came to Saving Grace in February 2020. She was originally at Lubbock Animal Services but did not do well there. She is a beautiful young girl who loves all people and gives great hugs. She has a lot to say and may make funny donkey noises at you when she wants to tell you something! Leah is full of energy and is a natural athlete. She’d be the perfect running partner! Playing tug with a rope and chasing after big balls in the play yard are some of her favorite things to do!

  • Rhino came to Saving Grace in March 2021. He was seized from his previous owners for neglect. He’s a sweet old man who loves people and having a nice comfy bed to snooze on. He walks great on a leash and loves going for walks but will likely need a long nap after a stroll around the park. If you’re looking for a hiking partner, Rhino is not your guy.   • Lettie came to Saving Grace in August 2021 after being seized from her home for neglect. She was sick and emaciated but is now healthy and happy! Lettie is a large adult Rottweiler. She has some stiffness in her elbow joints and receives medicine to make her more comfortable. Don’t think for a minute that this stops her – this girl loves going for walks!   • Rona came to Saving Grace in April 2020 during the Corona/COVID pandemic, hence her name. She was facing euthanasia at a tiny rural shelter due to overcrowding. Rona is a happy, happy girl! She is probably around 5 years old, loves all people, and enjoys cuddling. She walks well on a leash and is a champion zoomie runner in the play yard – but splashing in the kiddie pool and wallowing like a hippo in any mud she can find are really her most favorite activities of all!   • Domino came to Saving Grace in January 2020 after many stressful months at Lubbock Animal Services. He was a walking skeleton and severely depressed. He is now a happy, healthy, active dog!   • Look at that sweet face! Tilly arrived at Saving Grace in March 2023. She is a gentle soul who came to us after being put on the euthanasia list at a small rural shelter where she’d been picked up as a stray. She is around 2 years old, weighs 40 lbs., and walks well on a leash. This snuggle bug is all about the cuddles! She’ll sit with you and take the pets for as long as you’ll give them.   • Ruby came to Saving Grace in September 2021 when she was intentionally dumped on our doorstep. Ruby is around 3 years old and is definitely the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! While she is playful and full of energy, she can also be very submissive and seems more confident when she goes for walks with one of her doggie friends.   • Meet Joy! This beautiful girl with soulful eyes came to Saving Grace in December 2022. She was found as a stray at a local amusement park and taken to Lubbock Animal Services where she spent a couple of weeks before coming to us. Joy is around 4 years old and is a total sweetheart! She loves every person she’s met and gets along with other calm dogs, male and female, big and small. This girl is all about belly rubs, walks, and treats!   • Kemper came to Saving Grace in October 2020. He was surrendered because his owner couldn’t afford surgery he needed to remove bladder stones. We are grateful to Four Legged Friends of Lubbock for funding his surgery, and he’s a completely healthy dog now – he just needs to continue on a special diet to maintain good bladder health.   • Wiggles came to Saving Grace in November 2019. His name comes from the full-body happy dance he does when he sees people! Wiggles lived in a home until his owner was no longer able to care for him after he was severely burned in a house fire. His sensitive white skin and burn scars require some special care. Despite his difficult past, Wiggles loves all people and is an energetic, happy dog! He gives big sloppy kisses and loves his stuffed animals. Wiggles can be a bit of a diva –

  • Neiko came to Saving Grace in November 2017. He was found wandering the streets and his owner didn't want him back when Lubbock Animal Services contacted them. Neiko is an adult Akita. He has a gorgeous brindle coat that makes him look so handsome and unique! He is the biggest, sweetest fluff ball you will ever meet!   • Hazel came to Saving Grace in March 2023 after being transported from Burke County shelter in GA. She was found as a stray in January 2023 and was brought to us to give her more time to find her forever home. Hazel is around 1.5 years old and is definitely the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! She is playful and full of energy, and loves walks and play time with her doggie friends. Hazel is an all-around fun-loving, beautiful soul needing a second chance.

  • Jolie was found in May 2021 in a small Texas town. She had been shot and her entire left shoulder was torn muscles and broken bones. We were unsure if her injury could be repaired, but with diligent care, she is fully healed! Jolie is a happy, joyful girl who is likely around 5 years old. She loves going for walks, playing in the yard, splashing in the pool, and rolling in the grass! Jolie is a big love-bug and adores being with all people.   • Jasmine came to Saving Grace in August 2020. She was attacked by another dog in her previous home and her owner surrendered her to get her treated. She’s an older lady but young at heart! She is a pro at zoomies! She loves when you throw her toys, but she tends to overshoot her destination and go tumbling headfirst in the grass. Her favorite play yard pastime is throwing herself on the ground and rolling on her back. Jasmine does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.

  • (Foster-to-Adopt Pending) Meet Dax! Dax was found along a busy road, limping and lost in December 2022. It appeared he might have been bumped by a car or maybe fell out of a moving vehicle? We are not sure about the sweet soul’s story. Thankfully he healed before he had to move on to his next health battle - heartworms. He has completed his treatment and is a happy and healthy guy! This gentle boy is about 3 years old, loves everyone, and does well with calm female dogs.

  • Diamond came to Saving Grace in September 2021. She was living at a veterinary clinic after her owner unfortunately became sick and unable to keep her. The staff took great care of her until she came to us. Diamond appears to be an American Bulldog mix who’s around 4 years old. She has a cute nub tail that wiggles with joy and a big beautiful smile!   • Clark Griswold came to Saving Grace in December 2019. He was facing euthanasia at the Tulia, TX shelter due to overcrowding. Clark has the most beautiful brindle coat.
