Meet Our Dogs
-
Leah came to Saving Grace in February 2020. She was originally at Lubbock Animal Services but did not do well there. She is a beautiful young girl who loves all people and gives great hugs. She has a lot to say and may make funny donkey noises at you when she wants to tell you something! Leah is full of energy and is a natural athlete. She’d be the perfect running partner! Playing tug with a rope and chasing after big balls in the play yard are some of her favorite things to do!
-
Domino came to Saving Grace in January 2020 after many stressful months at Lubbock Animal Services. He was a walking skeleton and severely depressed. He is now a happy, healthy, active dog! Looking for a running buddy? Domino is your guy. Need a hiking partner? Sign him up. Want someone to play lots of ball with? He’s your man! Domino also loves the water – splashing in the kiddie pool, running through the sprinkler, or even being sprayed with a hose! As active as he is, he prefers hi

Ruby came to Saving Grace in September 2021 when she was intentionally dumped on our doorstep. Ruby is around 3 years old and is definitely the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! While she is playful and full of energy, she can also be very submissive and seems more confident when she goes for walks with one of her doggie friends. She would be a wonderful addition to a home with an active owner/family! We aren’t sure of her breed, but we know she’s beautiful. Ruby has a rough-and-rowdy play

If you are looking for a loyal, seasoned companion who truly understands the value of a quiet afternoon, meet Jack.
Jack is a handsome 9-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix. For most of his life, Jack has known only rescue life, living in a shelter before recently transferring to Saving Grace Rescue LBK. He has been a patient boy for a very long time, and we are determined to find him the couch he’s been dreaming of.
🏠 Jack’s Ideal Life
Jack was recently diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis. While that might sound intimidating, Jack is handling it fantastically! Our vet has encouraged a "watch and see" approach, and so far, he is doing wonderful. To keep him feeling his best, Jack has a few simple requests for his forever home:
A Calm Environment: Jack is a "low-gear" kind of guy. He thrives in a peaceful home without too much hustle and bustle.
Climate Control is Key: Because of his condition, Jack needs to stay out of the outdoor elements, especially heat. He is likes to be an indoor gentleman who loves his air conditioning!
Easy Does It: Jack's marathon-running days are behind him. He needs limited activity to keep his breathing easy and relaxed. He does enjoy short walks and an easy romp in the yard with other canine friends.
A Soulful Companion: He is the ultimate "hang out" partner—perfect for someone who enjoys reading, watching movies, or just quiet companionship.
Jack has spent nearly a decade waiting for a family to call his own. He doesn't need much—just a cool room, a soft bed, and a person to love him through his golden years.

Neiko, a regal Akita with a soul full of sunshine, has been waiting for his forever family for a over five years. While the circumstances of his owner surrender remain a mystery, Neiko's spirit remains unbowed. This playful senior is a walking contradiction: wise and experienced yet bursting with youthful energy. He adores car rides with the windows down, the wind ruffling his fur, and wouldn't dream of missing out on a scoop of dog-friendly ice cream (it's practically a tradition!). A champ on walks, Neiko would happily explore new trails with you by his side. While Neiko isn't a fan of other furry friends, his focus is squarely on his human companion and bonds quickly. If you're looking for a loyal, loving dog who thrives on adventures (and maybe shares your love for frozen treats!), Neiko could be your perfect match. Don't let his extended wait deter you - Neiko's heart, though patient, is brimming with love waiting to be unleashed.
Neiko is a favorite among volunteers and enjoys outings with them. He is such a great dog with big love and big personality. He deserves a home of his own!
Neiko came to Saving Grace in November 2018. He was found wandering the streets and his owner didn't want him back when Lubbock Animal Services contacted them. He has a gorgeous brindle coat that makes him look so handsome and unique! He is the biggest, sweetest fluff ball you will ever meet! Neiko holds his toys in his mouth and dances around on his back legs when he's happy - which is all the time.

Meet Shasta, a 25 lb., 1 year-old shepherd mix who came to Saving Grace in early April after news broke of a hoarding case in a nearby rural county.
You will love Shasta if you:
- Want a new best friend for you current dog
- Are ready to adopt a dog with the kindest soul and biggest heart
- Can be inspired by a dog who has been through challenges and has overcome them
- Will appreciate a dog who is shy, but given some time loves everyone she meets
If so, then Shasta is for you! She’s looking for an owner who will cherish every tiny step forward and enjoy every part of her journey!
We are looking for a home that will enjoy showing her what the life of a loved pet is like, someone who is willing to be patient and allow her time to adjust so that her sweet soul will shine! Most of all she needs patience and love, with big celebrations for all the accomplishments she will achieve!
Here is a link showing where she came from: https://www.cbs7.com/2023/03/24/121-dogs-found-malnourished-ector-county-hoarding-case/?outputType=amp

Thank you for considering this sweet girl!

If you’re looking for a dog who embodies resilience, look no further than our handsome guy, Linc. At 3 years old, this "short and sturdy" Pittie/Dachshund mix (yes, you read that right!) . This is our best guess.
Linc’s story started with a heartbreak—he was surrendered to a high-kill city shelter and found himself on the euthanasia list.
This poor guy hasn't had it easy. Since arriving at Saving Grace, Linc has been diagnosed with both tick-borne disease and heartworms. He is currently undergoing treatment and proving to be such a brave fighter! Because he is mid-treatment, he needs to stay calm and kept comfortable until his treatment is complete.
Linc’s Favorites:
His Dog Friends: Linc is social and truly enjoys the company of other dogs.
Quiet Strolls: While he can't do marathons right now, he absolutely loves a slow, quiet walk to sniff the grass.
Second Chances: After everything he’s been through, Linc just wants a place where he is safe, loved, and never has to worry about being "left behind" again.
Linc is a unique, sweet soul who has so much love left to give. He’s looking for a hero to take him the rest of the way home. Could it be you?

Theo, a trembling Chihuahua, is one of the few survivors of a heartbreaking cruelty case. Found alongside his friends, Mia and Noah, this tiny warrior has endured the unimaginable. His small frame bears emotional scars of his past, but his spirit remains unbroken.
Theo is a cautious soul, understandably wary of the world after all he's been through. He'll need time to learn that he's safe and loved, that the world isn't filled with fear and pain. With patience and understanding, Theo can blossom into the loving and playful companion he deserves to be.
This gentle soul is searching for a forever home where he can find solace, security, and the unwavering love he's always longed for. If you have a heart filled with compassion and a home that can offer Theo the peace and comfort he needs to heal, please consider giving him a chance to know the love he's always dreamed of.

Kemper came to Saving Grace in October 2020. He was surrendered because his owner couldn’t afford surgery he needed to remove bladder stones. We are grateful to Four Legged Friends of Lubbock for funding his surgery, and he’s a completely healthy dog now – he just needs to continue on a special diet to maintain good bladder health. Kemper is a sweet silly boy! He has ears the size of satellite dishes and is the most handsome guy you’ve ever seen when they are standing on end. He has a v

Jasmine came to Saving Grace in August 2020. She was attacked by another dog in her previous home and her owner surrendered her to get her treated. She’s an older lady but young at heart! She is a pro at zoomies! She loves when you throw her toys, but she tends to overshoot her destination and go tumbling headfirst in the grass. Her favorite play yard pastime is throwing herself on the ground and rolling on her back. Jasmine does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.

Meet Whitney, a West Texas beauty with a soft soul. This sweet girl was found as a stray in a small rural town, and sadly, faced the very real possibility of euthanasia. But fate intervened, and Whitney was given a second chance. She's a soft and gentle soul, a little cautious of new things, but always hoping for the best. Her eyes are soulful and kind, reflecting a caring nature that shines from within. Whitney is a true beauty, inside and out, and deserves a loving home where she can finally feel safe and cherished. She's ready to blossom in a calm and patient environment, where she can learn to trust and let her sweet personality shine.
This sensitive girl may take some time to warm up especially with men, but once she trusts you, her loving personality shines through. Could you be the one to give Whitney the happily ever after she deserves?

Chanel is a beautiful, sensitive soul ready to trade the past for a peaceful, loving future. At just 3 years old and 50lbs, this girl is the perfect combination of playful pup and devoted companion.
Chanel found herself at a small animal control after a tough start. She was left there after another place took her puppies. Despite her sad history, her heart is incredibly soft and sweet. She is longing for a patient family who can appreciate her gentle nature.
Some of Chanel's Favorite Things:
Affection: She absolutely melts for cuddles, gentle pets, and being close to her people. If you’re looking for a devoted shadow, Chanel is it!
Social Time: She loves playing with other dogs of her size as long as the play is not too rough! If you have a friendly resident dog looking for a pal, Chanel would be thrilled.
Outdoor Adventures: Chanel enjoys a good walk and is excellent on the leash.
Water Fun: She's a big fan of water! Whether it's a splash in a kiddie pool or chasing the hose, she's all in for some aquatic playtime.
Because she is such a sensitive dog, Chanel would thrive in a calm, welcoming home where she can fully blossom. Give this wonderful girl the second chance she deserves, and she will shower you with love and gentle devotion.

Meet Chance!
This handsome fella is a true gem, inside and out. Chance is a beautiful dog with a heart of gold, but sadly, he's had a long and winding road to finding his forever home. He waited patiently at another rescue, hoping for his special someone, until they sadly had to close their doors. Now, he's with us, hoping his luck is about to change! Chance is dog-friendly, walks wonderfully on leash, and loves to chat with his favorite people (he's quite the conversationalist!). He's ready to fill your life with love, laughter, and maybe a few "woofs" of wisdom. Could you be the one to give Chance the happy ending he so deserves?

Meet Marge!
This sweet, loyal girl is Marge, and she's ready to find her forever home! She was found as a stray, seeking shelter from the Lubbock heat at a local equipment store, with no identification. We knew we had to help her, so she's now safe and sound with us at Saving Grace.
Marge is about 2-3 years old and weighs a perfect 35 pounds. She has quickly become a volunteer favorite with her calm and loving nature. She absolutely adores splashing in her kiddie pool, going on long walks, and cozying up in her bed for a nap. Her favorite thing in the world is a good, long cuddle session, and she will shower you with all the affection you can handle.
While Marge enjoys her walks with other furry friends who are also waiting for their homes, she would prefer to be your one and only dog. She's looking for a family who will give her all the love and attention she deserves. Could that be you?
Marge is currently located at Saving Grace in Wilson, TX.

If you believe that the best things in life are worth waiting for, then you need to meet Spears.
Spears is a beautiful 9-year-old Terrier/Pit mix who has spent nearly her entire life waiting in rescue environments. After years of waiting in another rescue, she was transferred to Saving Grace Rescue LBK, and we are determined to make sure her next chapter is her best one yet.
When Spears first arrived, she had a bit of a rough road ahead of her. She was diagnosed with mast cell tumors that required immediate attention. We are so happy to report that her surgery was a success! Her vet achieved good margins, and so far, no new growths have appeared. Spears is feeling great and is ready to leave her medical worries behind her.
Don’t let her "senior" status fool you—Spears is pure magic. She has quite possibly the softest, sweetest personality we have ever encountered. She is a true "people dog" who just wants to be wherever you are. Whether you’re folding laundry, watching TV, or taking a slow stroll in the yard, Spears just wants to be your shadow.
Spears’ Wish List:
Loyalty: She wants a person or family she can finally call her own.
Snuggles: Plenty of head scratches and soft beds.
Stability: After a lifetime in rescues, she’s looking for a quiet "retirement" home where she can finally relax.
Spears has waited almost a decade for a couch to call her own. She has so much love packed into her heart, and she’s just waiting for the right person to give it to.
Could you be the one to finally bring Spears home?

Meet Dozer!
Dozer's journey started with a bit of heartbreak. He and his friend Milo (also for adoption) were surrendered together to a high euthanasia shelter in West Texas. Thankfully, they are now safe and looking for their forever homes! While Dozer enjoys Milo's company, he would likely do well with other compatible dogs.
This handsome boy is friendly and absolutely loves to receive attention! His sweet and affectionate nature always shines through.
While Dozer is a wonderful companion, he would benefit from a little leash work training. With patience and positive reinforcement, he'll be strutting his stuff like a pro in no time! This is a great opportunity to bond with him and help him become the best dog he can be.
Dozer is looking for a loving home where he can feel safe, cherished, and receive the affection he so deserves. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the second chance he's been waiting for? He's ready to fill your life with love and happy tail wags!
Breed: Possibly a Terrier Mix, some wire hair in his coat as well
Age: Approximately 2-3 years old
Weight: Medium - 45 lbs
House-trained: Unknown - will require patience and consistency in a new home
Energy level: Medium - will need exercise and mental stimulation
Location: Saving Grace Rescue LBK in Wilson, TX
