Leah came to Saving Grace in February 2020. She was originally at Lubbock Animal Services but did not do well there. She is a beautiful young girl who loves all people and gives great hugs. She has a lot to say and may make funny donkey noises at you when she wants to tell you something! Leah is full of energy and is a natural athlete. She’d be the perfect running partner! Playing tug with a rope and chasing after big balls in the play yard are some of her favorite things to do!

Domino came to Saving Grace in January 2020 after many stressful months at Lubbock Animal Services. He was a walking skeleton and severely depressed. He is now a happy, healthy, active dog! Ruby came to Saving Grace in September 2021 when she was intentionally dumped on our doorstep. Ruby is around 3 years old and is definitely the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet! While she is playful and full of energy, she can also be very submissive and seems more confident when she goes for walks with one of her doggie friends. Neiko came to Saving Grace in November 2018. He was found wandering the streets and his owner didn't want him back when Lubbock Animal Services contacted them. He has a gorgeous brindle coat that makes him look so handsome and unique! He is the biggest, sweetest fluff ball you will ever meet! Neiko holds his toys in his mouth and dances around on his back legs when he's happy - which is all the time.

Meet Shasta, a 25 lb., 1 year-old shepherd mix who came to Saving Grace in early April after news broke of a hoarding case in a nearby rural county.

Meet Wylie!
Wylie is a truly special boy, estimated to be around 2 years old. His journey to us began as a stray in a rural West Texas town, where he sadly suffered an injury when his foot was caught in a coyote trap. Despite this difficult past, Wylie's spirit remains beautiful and bright.
He is a truly majestic dog, with a striking presence. While Wylie can be shy initially, especially around new people and experiences, a playful side peeks through as he begins to feel comfortable. He's currently learning the ropes of leash walking and making great progress each day!
Wylie has shown a preference for women and would likely thrive in a home with female caregivers, however, he is warming up to men more each day. He needs a structured, patient, and incredibly kind environment where he can feel safe and learn what it truly means to be a cherished dog. This gentle soul needs a family who will understand his initial caution, offer consistent positive reinforcement, and give him the time and space he needs to blossom. He needs gentle guidance to navigate new places, people and unfamiliar sounds.

Kemper came to Saving Grace in October 2020. He was surrendered because his owner couldn’t afford surgery he needed to remove bladder stones. We are grateful to Four Legged Friends of Lubbock for funding his surgery, and he’s a completely healthy dog now – he just needs to continue on a special diet to maintain good bladder health. Jasmine came to Saving Grace in August 2020. She was attacked by another dog in her previous home and her owner surrendered her to get her treated. She’s an older lady but young at heart! She is a pro at zoomies! She loves when you throw her toys, but she tends to overshoot her destination and go tumbling headfirst in the grass. Her favorite play yard pastime is throwing herself on the ground and rolling on her back. Jasmine does well on a leash and enjoys going for walks.

Meet Opal!
Prepare to fall head over heels for Opal! This gentle soul is truly the "sweetest potato" you'll ever meet. For her entire life, Opal resided at another rescue nearby. When that rescue made the difficult decision to close, Opal found her way to us, and we are determined to find her the loving family she so deserves.
Opal is an absolute sweetheart who thrives on affection. Her favorite things in the world are gentle pets, leisurely walks, and simply being near her people. You'll often find her nudging your hand or leaning against your leg – physical touch brings her immense comfort and reassurance. After spending so long waiting, she's ready to soak up all the love you have to offer!
This lovely lady also has a big heart for her fellow canines! Opal gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would enjoy having a furry friend in her new home or just taking all the affection for herself!
While Opal's medical assessment is excellent, she does have low thyroid levels. This is easily managed with a daily pill. This minor health concern doesn't slow her down one bit and certainly doesn't diminish her incredible sweetness! Treating this condition will also help her manage her weight.

Chucky came to Saving Grace in January 2020. He was seized from his owner for welfare concerns and spent several months at Lubbock Animal Services before coming to us. This handsome guy can be shy at first, but don’t let him fool you! He is a young, playful, happy boy who loves his toys and being with people! He will probably proudly show you his favorite toy when you greet him in his kennel. Chucky is always up for going on long walks, is great on a leash, and adores going for car rides.

Hey there! My name is Humphrey, and I'm a beautiful, soft-natured pup looking for a new home. I had a bit of a rough start and found myself in a small West Texas shelter. It was all a little scary, and I'm still learning to be brave, but I'm told I have a lot of love to give.

Dozer's journey started with a bit of heartbreak. He and his friend Milo (also for adoption) were surrendered together to a high euthanasia shelter in West Texas. Thankfully, they are now safe and looking for their forever homes! While Dozer enjoys Milo's company, he would likely do well with other compatible dogs.
